More on ebooks Insanity at Wits University

This email came from one of my three regular readers. She's a PhD student at Penn State:

you left out two cons about ebooks - printer maintenance and internet access. Since Penn State switched to ebooks for the med students, we haven't had a functional printer in any of the computer labs at the college of medicine. There is always plenty of paper and toner, but that doesn't do a bit of good if the printer isn't functional. As for internet access, if you don't have a high speed connection, ebooks are a complete pain in the ass to download. When I lived on campus, I used to start a download before I went to class so that it would be done by dinner time.
