A debate about some really small stuff

The Drexler vs. Smalley debate regarding molecular assemblers (nanotechnology) is one of the best on the net that I've ever come across. Both of them have a way of slipping in the knife, ever so gently, but all the way to the hilt. You can check out their series of open letters here.

A more recent, but nastier, internet debate is the Juan Cole/Jonah Goldberg affair.

As to which one could have a more profound effect on the human species, Drexler vs. Smalley wins sticky fingers down. Nanotech, boys and girls, will change everything.
