Say Goodbye to the South Atlantic Albatross

Another one bites the dust. This is getting really depressing. David Attenborough on the albatross in the South Atlantic:

"The chance of an individual albatross surviving to old age now seems as remote as the ability of many albatross species to exist beyond the end of this century."

In related news, not only do we eat too many fish, we waste even more in a dance of needless, mindless and brutal slaughter. Proud of modern society and technology? Then you're a fucking idiot.

"A new report by the WWF has found that many of the fishing practices employed to satisfy the public's appetite are having an unacceptable effect on the marine environment. In some cases as much as 80 per cent of catches are thrown over board by fishermen for being too small or not valuable enough. The result is that many millions of fish are killed every year for nothing and several once popular species are in danger."
